Cooking from three browser tabs and a scribbled note? Sprig turns any recipe page into a tidy, aisle-sorted grocery list with a single click. It scales the servings, merges duplicate ingredients across every recipe and site, and sorts everything by aisle, so you shop once, in order, without backtracking.

What Sprig does

  • One-click capture. Open any recipe, click the 🌱 Sprig icon, and choose “Add this page’s recipe.” Sprig reads the page only at that moment.
  • Scales servings. Cooking for six instead of four? Bump the servings and every quantity rescales, including fractions like 1½ cups.
  • Merges duplicates. Two recipes that both call for flour become one line. Sprig even combines compatible units (1 tbsp + 1 tsp → 1⅓ tbsp; 1 lb + 8 oz → 1.5 lb) and never mixes families it can’t trust.
  • Sorts by aisle. Produce, Dairy & Eggs, Meat & Seafood, Bakery, Pantry and more. Each section gets an emoji marker and a live item count, so your trip flows down one side of the store and up the other.
  • Built for your phone. The list page is fully responsive: fluid widths, no sideways scrolling, and big, comfortable tap targets.
  • Share anywhere. Send your list to WhatsApp or Telegram, push it to your Notes app (Apple Notes, Google Keep) through the system share sheet, or copy and print a clean list.

Why it’s different

Most “meal planning” apps want a monthly subscription, an account, and your shopping habits. Sprig does one job and does it well: it converts a recipe to a shopping list and gets out of your way. No subscription, no account, no upsell wall, and it works with the recipes you already read on any site.

If a full meal-planner is a Swiss Army knife you rarely open, Sprig is the sharp paring knife you reach for every week.

Private by design

Sprig requests no host permissions and reads a page only on your click, using activeTab. Everything is local: your list lives in your browser’s storage, with no server, no account, and no analytics or tracking. Sharing to WhatsApp or Telegram simply opens those apps in a new tab. Sprig itself uploads nothing.

One-time price, no subscription

Sprig is $12, paid once. No monthly fee, no annual renewal, no “premium tier” that holds your own grocery list hostage. A 14-day free trial lets you try before you buy, and viewing and checking off your list stays free forever.

Sprig: common questions

Which browsers does Sprig work in?

Any Chromium browser: Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Vivaldi and Arc. It is a Manifest V3 extension, so it installs and behaves the same across all of them.

Is it private? What can it see?

Sprig requests no host permissions and reads a recipe page only when you click to add it (activeTab). Your list is stored locally in your browser. There is no account, no server, and no tracking.

Can I share my list to WhatsApp, Telegram or Notes?

Yes. The share sheet sends your grocery list straight to WhatsApp or Telegram in a new tab, and on supported devices it opens the system share sheet for Apple Notes, Google Keep or Messages. A reliable Copy for Notes button is always there as a fallback.

Does it handle multiple recipes at once?

Yes. Add as many recipes as you like. Sprig merges duplicate ingredients across all of them and combines compatible units, so you buy the right total.

Is there a subscription?

No. Sprig is a one-time $12 purchase. There are no recurring charges, ever.

The deal

Why one-time, and why private

Most useful little tools are sold as a subscription you resent, or are free because you are the product. Neither sits right with us, so here is the trade we make instead.

  • Pay once, own it

One purchase, then it is yours. No recurring fee, no renewal you forgot about, no premium tier holding your own work hostage. The price you see is the whole price, and a license covers up to three of your devices.

  • Your data stays with you

Each tool asks for the fewest permissions it needs and does its work inside your browser. No analytics, no telemetry, no account to leak. The only call a paid extension ever makes is a license check to our own server, carrying your key and a random device id and nothing else. Your content never leaves your device.

  • Works in every Chromium browser

The extensions install and behave the same in Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi and Arc. The two games are self-contained HTML5 that also run offline and install as an app.
